Ok
I tried
But I cannot write a poem
On “change”
Maybe on changes I could.

Change by Sarah

Her pocket change plays to the beat
of the homeless man’s maraca -
coins in a styrofoam cup
He smells of abandon and dark, sweet rum
The same stale scent she wears
after Friday night at the pub.
She drops 10p and hears its clank
he grunts, nods a sort of thanks.
A simple, gentle exchange.
How much of life is change
and people in its wake,
still, throughout, the human constant remains.

Changes, changes, More
Changes
Nothing stays the same…..
Tell me who is to blame?
Trees stand long and tall
The leaves turn colours
And down, down they fall
Everything and anything starts small
And through changes
They grow, they form
We don’t know any different
It's kinda the Norm.
Do not fight it, is my advise, keep playing and
Keep throwing the dice

Change by Jason

The weather changes
The seasons change
Colours change as the day is long
Hair colour changes
Economic conditions change
Politicians change
We change our clothes
We change our hair
Age changes our bodies
As does exercise
As does food
Technology changes the way we communicate
But do we really ever change
How often do you go left rather than right
How much do we ever change ourselves?
Rather than the world around us!

Change by Caroline

Hiding behind your curtain,
You feel ugly inside,
So many times you have wondered,
So many times you’ve cried,
Hurting from your past,
But affecting the present in which you reside,
You refuse to let go and change what’s deep inside,
Looking over your shoulder, recalling every scene,
Looking at others, your eyes filled envy with green,
You blame them all for what you’ve become,
Not reflecting that in the process it all seemed to be so fun,
Sitting there numb, dumb as your world tumbles down,
Sitting there in silence, not making a single sound,
I see now,
That you’re not sitting there alone,
As your demons hunt you, putting on a show,
I see now,
That you’re not sitting there hiding but wanting to be found,
You feel like you can’t change this life that you are living now,
You’ve lost control and cant start forgiving,
Yourself, you’ve put change on a shelf,
It’s something you feel you can’t reach,
But I’m here to teach,
You,
That change doesn’t come over night,
You have to fight,
Cos in the long term you will see the light,
Bright as the day you arose,
In the new place you now call home,
My child, my darling, to change you don’t need to be alone

You copied me,
Word for word,
Every nuance
Exactly the same,
Subtle right tilt
And no paragraph,
You even used
A red biro,
Just as
I had,
The tear at
The left corner,
Same length
And gradient,
Even though it
Ripped by chance.

Change by Anon

From Rainfall to Shine
From Grey Skies to blue
And Water to Wine
From Falsehood to True
If therein there lies
A Pearl of Great Price
Then what of the rest, and the lost and the found
And which of us acknowledge the duties by which we’re
bound,
And give to our Brethren that which is due,
And keeping back nothing, nor giving in lieu.
What gives and receives in equal aplomb,
In the sure Certitude of the Judgement to come,
And knows that the world of beyond,
When all is discovered, and none can be Spared,
From Justice and Punishment equally shared.
When nothing is sure, And nothing is True,
When All is confusion and everything Strange,
There can be but one Conclusion,
“plus ça change”.

Change by Sophie

We change our lives
And change our minds
We change our feelings
And change the times.
A change can be
A short term thing,
Or a change can be forever.
I don’t think there’s anything
Wrong in changing,
To try and be somebody better.
But I think with change
Comes a lot of blame.
A lot of courage,
But a lot of pain.
Afraid to be somone
Who's always the same.
Boring, plain,
Predictable, mundane.
I think a change is a push
To help you move on.
Whether it's what you want
Or life’s gone wrong.
Coz change is what keeps us going
To strive for something more.
We spend a lifetime asking questions
That we have no answers for.
A change can be a make or break,
A risk to take, or a big mistake!
But who cares anyway?
If the change wasn’t what you saw,
The beauty of change is that
You can change back-
To the Life you had before! Change

City by Gemma Gray

City
There's no pity
Cos she is so pretty
And witty
And she lives in this city

"Change"
Her pocket change jingles
to the beat of the bum's maraca : coins in a styrofoam cup.

He smells of abandon and sweet, dark rum
the same stale scent she wears, on a Friday night out at the pub

She drops 10p, hears it clank
he grunts and shift a sort of 'thanks'
a gentle modest exchange

Leaves on a tree, a toothless grin
So much of life is change
still ,the constant of humanityremains

Fly

You watched the change
Why does my end always become your start
You slowly dissected me
Until I fell apart
First the wings
So I could no longer fly
You took away my tears
So I could no longer cry
you watched me change
from fullness to a shell
you kept your distance
my room a cell
you watched me change
I don’t remember who I am
Or where it all began
But I remember loving you
Now there’s nothing left to do
Ill just have to watch for change
