The eyes are the mirror of our soul, the mirror shows us our face, our face shows our mood and our smile can change the day, and change the way we feel. Look in the mirror and see yourself, erase the frown thats lurking there, its all too easy to forget, smile and see the change and feel the change, you can only feel good and see the effect of a smile on other people when you smile at them, like a mirror they always smile back and that makes for a good day.

it reminds me to seize the day,
only once are we here and the time will fly,
so let nothing get in your way,

find good in everything and everyone,
in all you do find satisfaction,do it well,
but most of all have fun.

spread your wings and make the best of all you can,

Courage By Val Fletcher

Where do we find the courage to face our fears each day
its hard to say but all in all we always find a way.
Life can sometimes be a struggle
it can also be a fight,
so its very hard sometimes to see a chink of light
So what can one do but soldier on and hold ones head up high
smell the air and see the clouds and hope for a clear blue sky.
Chase away the darkness let the sun shine in,and hope that as is always said
there is a silver lining

Winter Solstice by Val Fletcher

Winters firm grip has held us fast, snow and frost, winds icy blast, the green hills painted white, the trees stiff and starched, the days bright and sunny now, the grip loosening at last. The solstice is here and the shortest day now past. The spring so near yet so far away, but some things are stirring in the longer days, the skies are clear and bright these nights the moon a glowing ball, the trees in shadow on the hills. The oak and ash so tall, not so long now the warmer sun will open little flowers, the spring days will be here to wet us with her showers.

Journey by Val Fletcher

My energy ebbed and flowed, I knew it would be a long road, but every journey begins with one small step, so onwards and upwards I strode. As a child the world was wonderous to me, as I grew and learned and found my way, made friends, loved family, and became who I am today, on my journey I have been happy, but also I have been sad but I would not change the journey that I have had. My time is now my own so another journey has begun, one where I fly over deserts and mountains and sea and sky are one, I meet people of many cultures I eat many different foods, and share a little of their lives and all their different moods. We part and always say we will keep in touch, we do because we have shared so much. My journey in some ways has been tough with heartbreak on the way, but that behind me now I feel ready to go on and though it might get rough, but with hope and stregnth I will carry on, I hope to more adventure and fun.

Hope

I am a soldier of courage, and I know that you are too, so whatever life can throw at us we strive to make it through. The ups and downs, the highs and lows, it never rains but it pours, and then it hails and snows. Still we struggle on, and still we fight the fight, because we know that with luck and hope one day things may come right. So with heads held high we carry on hoping its not for much longer,and we all know very well that which does not kill us only makes us stronger.

Swoop by Val Fletcher

Swoop

One thing i like very much is when the swallows swoop, its usually early evening when they come out to feed and they loop the loop. They like to swoop above the water and catch insects for their tea, and as they fly and swoop around they seem to say look at me, I can fly and swoop around while you can only watch from down there on the ground. And yes that is so and I stand and watch in awe, and admire you little swallows for now and evermore.
