New - Inpiration by Jane Bristowe
Inspiration
I opened the zip of my wound
Like cracking open the crust of dry earth
I found
Seas roaring
Suns blazing
Winds belting
Vulnerability gouged out
Sexuality trampled under foot
Intuition battered
Instincts torn
Anger suffocated
Tears choked
Voice strangled
In this place shame ruled.
I let the light in
And banished my assailant
I gave myself permission
I gave myself love and understanding
I gave myself peace and tranquillity
I gave myself freedom
I gave myself the breath of life
I gave myself back the present moment
And balance was restored.
My inner hell became an inner vision
And not without pain
The earth became fertile again
And new life began.

And while you slept -
I climbed the mountains
Sailed the seas
Without any family
With relative ease
Achieved the grades
Earned the money
Never failed
To find life funny
Ended famine
… Third World debt
Invented health chocolate
And the Green Jumbo Jet
Saved the whale/
Endangered Meer cat
Worked out Boehms Theory
On the back of a beer mat
Became a Lad’s lad
And a perfect gent
Gave up sinning
For more than lent
Bigged you up
Enhanced your status
Mastered ‘Happy Birthday’
On a cazoo, with flatus
Said sorry for neglect
When I meant to help
Improved your physical
And mental health .
Made our drug of choice
Five portions of fruit
In the space of 10 minutes
Got the world to follow suit
And then I awoke
While you kept sleeping.
And while you slept -

The Dream
I dreamt
I was sleeping
I dreamt I was
Dreaming
Dreaming of a fox
But it was real
Real I tell you
Pacing in circles
In the space
In the front of my bed
Pacing
Circling
Pacing
Circling
Till it sat
Back facing me
Upright
Proud
Guarding me
Calm
I lay still as a corpse
Holding breath
Did he see me?
Could he smell the fear?
An eye movement later
He was snaring
At something next to me
Making ravaged sounds
He was hungry
Or angry
Nestling his snout
Violently
Into the pillow
Next to me
His tail brushed over
My hair
He’d found mew
Will I die?
I looked up
Time 4 AM
I dreamt
I was sleeping
I dreamt I was
Dreaming
Dreaming of a fox
But it was real
Real I tell you
Pacing in circles
In the space
In the front of my bed
Pacing
Circling
Pacing

Dream
My eyes shut, a deep breath,
I took a plunge, a header one
"so brave", I exclamed to myself.
"keep going", I thought
and my breath lasted indeed...
But now, back in the surface again.
The dream is over.
Ready for another deep breath!?
My eyes shut, a deep breath,
I took a plunge, a header one
"so brave", I exclamed to myself.
"keep going", I thought
and my breath lasted indeed...
But now, back in the surface again.
The dream is over.

Dreaming of Together
Standing in her red ball gown,
She watches the others,
Like delicate flowers they move and swirling,
As though they were connected to each other,
The hate and anger builds,
She remembers the love they had,
The pain and passion they had,
The memories of how they moved together,
Swirling, twisting.
-
The music telling them were to go,
But now she is there alone,
The music is so sweet and tender,
The flowers move to it, swaying,
She stands in the corner alone,
The door opens!
-
A dark, shadowed figure floats towards her,
Moving together under the stars,
The music tells them what to do,
Together, Swirling, flowing together,
As though one creature, together,
The flowers part as the rose enters,
Twisted and entwined in each other,
A rose among a garden of flowers,
She has him back!
-
Forever! Together! Under the moon and stars,
Their love will never end,
She hopes this night will stay forever,
She prays time will stop,
As she knows when the music ends,
She will be alone again,
In the corner,
A rose without a garden,
-
It ends and she is alone,
And only left with memories,
Memories of long ago,
Memories of love and passion,
Memories of together
Standing in her red ball gown,
She watches the others,
Like delicate flowers they move and swirling,
As though they were connected to each other,
The hate and anger builds,

Surrender by simon sylvester
The first ever morning after
simon sylvester
On a kitchen chair,
she drinks tea, puts on lipstick.
This is how demigods
sit on kitchen chairs this
is what a muse looks like
the morning after, relaxed
in leather jackets
and
cut off shorts, yesterday’s vests and
a cigarette burns in her mouth the
scarlet
smashed against her skin.
The shorts were discarded
kicked away onto the carpet
firm tan legs wrapped
around my hips
bone to bone, lips to
lips, eyeliner, dream lover,
we ground against each other.
Her sweat is my sweat
beaded and boiled
her cotton knickers
still sticky and soiled
in my bag I
rub them
between my little fingers
unseen in the bag she
wears a pair of mine instead we
are the same size we
shared the same bed
our lips stained
the same cigarette,
our lipstick grease on lips and legs,
drunken, I begged, she licked,
her tongue darts out
kitten pink
that sunrise fractured in the wine
beside my bed
her one hand, squeezing hold of both of mine
the other, short with painted nails,
forced between my parted legs.
Stop don’t
stop come
forever don’t
stop her
tongue slips between lips
salty and sweaty and
I fall in love as she leaves me forever on my first ever morning after.

City by Tim Rudall
City
Mad scenes! And really, who needs grass
When such other sights amuse my eyes?
Buildings and vegetables lining the skies
Ten thousand degrees, or creeds and castes
Such smells too! The Covent Gardenias sweet
Rosey dawns and other nasal treats
From here to there I'm certain to meet.
A few steps more? The stench of old feet.

I AM NOT GOING TO TELL YOU THE NAME OF THE CITY
I am not going to tell you the name of the city
in which my steps are still searching for me.
I am not going to tell you the name of the city
whose bridges are longer than life
I am not going to tell you the name of the city
under whom even the sky was like a tent's wing
I am not going to tell you the name of the city
in which I learned to start up a new journey
as soon as I arrive.
I am not going to tell you the name of the city
which is never to grow old
I am not going to tell you the name of the city
in which I met the eyes with the color of the sky
I am not going to tell you the name of the city
in which I was knocking on my own doors from inside
I am not going to tell you the name of the city
which was far too small cage for my wings
I am not going to tell you the name of the city
in which my steps are still searching for me.
I am not going to tell you the name of the city

Rhythm
You have it
I love your
Drum talk
Your meter
Your method
Your pulse
The beat
The pace
A son clave
A boss nova
A short delay
Your tempo
Doubles
Triples
It affects my balance
Your prosody
Your stresses
Long short
Short long
They command me
Beat me
Pitch, low in deliverance
High in effect
You’re a Griot
Oral
Gun
Dun
Go
Do
Pa
Ta
Your African
A Djembe
Tabla complex
My drum
Keeps you in line
In harmony
In time
We make sounds
Variations
In Length
Accentuating
The highs, lows
A flow
A wave
Symmetry
The ripples
Always an event
I clap and
You gesture me
Always in time

Dream by Erato
I have a dream
A naive house, an orange lover, a gentle sun beam
A wild garden, a wide open window
A spacious bathroom, a whispering willow
And making cheese cakes for the local market on Sunday
In the nearest small city suspended on a valley.
I got ya! I’m joking.

Not really
My dream tastes a bit of reality

The Journey by Asil
"The Journey"
The sun rose over the red city
The market stallers made their way to their place of residence - the souq
The travellers embarked on what would seem like another episode in their journey
The city became a sea of colours, until all became green and blue
The road seemed neverending, mystical
The travellers weaved through the mountains, taking narrow turns at heart racing speeds, feeling almost like they were flying
The dream cut short
The colours hazed into one as the car spun and rolled in the air
The car froze
The world paused
The traveller's minds turning into a state of half dead half alive, carried on to what could only be described and thought of as heaven
Heaven was shaped as a thundering waterfall in a vast evergreen
If heaven could be a place on earth - it would be this
The sun rose over the red city
The market stallers made their way to their place of residence - the souq
The travellers embarked on what would seem like another episode in their journey
The city became a sea of colours, until all became green and blue
The road seemed neverending, mystical

Dream by Danny Teller
this is my theme for Dreams
Into a dream we go first and foremost
In the dead of night I have begun a dream. In the dead of night I have begun a dream; my body is peaceful again upon a bed of green grass.
I am in a field of beautiful trees and flowers and birds and bees. I am in a peace of a dream of clouds over green and pleasant pastures. The grass is so cool and fresh and so alive it becomes like a magic carpet of velvet to walk in a dream of peace. My dream in the dead of night has left me in a field of tranquillity and there is no such thing as time.
In my dream I go in peace for ever, there is no beginning and there is certainly no end. The nature around me is plentiful, only one thing is told not to eat the fruit of knowledge. The fruit of my dream of nutritious and glorious mind will never go hungry as long as I stay away from that tree my dream will last for ever.
A long restful night, suddenly the sun rises above the horizon the sun rays lighten up the place to a brilliant prism of life and radiating colours. A long restful night and suddenly the sun lightens up the place to a brilliant life. My dream turns over in a loop and leap, my head turns over and my eyes flutter open. I thought the dream of piece of peace thus I had eaten from the tree of life and I am no longer famished for my dream has replenished the body of life. My body turns and churns and chews to sheer delight oh my goodness was that all a dream.
