You are never far from my mind
never far from my thoughts,
even after all these years
your memory still remains
locked deep in my heart

Sometimes I feel I can sense you
and other times I am sure I glimpse you
the back of you disappearing
into the midst of a crowd
or I think I see you in the street
but of course, its not you.

Our song still plays on the radio
and when I hear it
it always transports me back in time
when I would lay in your arms
and you would kiss me softly
and lull me to sleep.

Wherever you are darling
and whoever you are with
part of you is always with me
and always will be
until the very end of time...

so compelling
but so dark and full of secrets
of lives and dreams

So much history
my ocean
so many lives lost
taken to your murky bed

But you are beautiful my ocean
but so cruel too
you take so easily
without recourse
and everytime without caring

So as I sit and watch your waves
I think of all those lost souls
and I wonder
how can something so so beautiful
be so cruel
and only you know the answer to that

If I had just one wish

Rhythm


I held you so close
I felt the rhythm of your heart
Beating loudly
Next to mine
The love you held for me
Shone bright in your eyes

We were two souls that had met by chance
And were now bonded together
By the rhythm of our love

A love like this was so pure
And like the rhythm of our hearts
Would always beat true

I saw a tear glisten in your eye
But it was only a tear of happiness
I drew in the essence of your being
And the blanket of your love
Envolped me and made me feel safe

We were bound by passion
And as our hearts continued to beat their rhythm
Our love continued to live

In my dream

You chase away my demons
And you bring out the woman in me

She was always there
but laying dormant
neglected for many a year

crying out for you

Don’t leave my dream

you make my life complete

And when I awake
I realise you were here
gone from my dream
but still in my mind
and the strength and belief that you gave me
protects me from my world

Tall buildings and dirty pavements
Pigeons smothered in congestion fumes
Commuters pushing and shoving their
Way to work
But somewhere in this mêlée
I saw you

I took in your magnitude
You stood out
You brushed past me as you walked past
I turned round to look
And you were looking too
With a wry smile on your face
And then you were gone
Swallowed up by our big lonely city…

I knew you were out there
And I had to find you again
The city could not hide you forever
And it was only a matter of time before we were together

Every night you go back to her
I never expect anything different
But I am just happy I met you
In our bustling city
You came to me
You held my hand
And looked into my eyes
You kissed my face
And then I knew
I had finally found my love…
